Well, we just finished another great hunting season with 100% success on all our blacktail deer hunts. We had to work harder for our big bucks this year because of the unusually warm weather. Now that the weather has finally turned cold, we are gearing up for what looks to be the makings of a good pig season, so now is the time to book your pig hunt. Congratulations to all our deer hunters. We look forward to seeing you again--and, of course, we welcome any new hunters next season. Check our website for rates or call Dave at 530-941-2112.

Final Summer Hunts
We had our furthest travelers, so far, visit the Dash Ranch this year. Bart and his daughter Hayley came all the way from British Columbia, Canada to hunt wild boar in late June. It was well worth their trip, too, as they were both successful in getting their first pigs. As you can see below, they each did very well for themselves.
The proud father!
Because of the intense heat up here during mid-late summer, the wild pigs have primarily gone nocturnal. So, we'll have to wait till fall, after deer season, to pick up where we left off. Until then, you can call Dave at the Dash Ranch to reserve your spot for a pig hunt or to see about deer and turkey hunts.
Congratulations again to Hayley and Bart-- it was a great way to close out the summer season.

Early Summer Hog Hunts
Things have really gotten hot up here, so everyone is (as we say on the ranch) "shading up" for the rest of the summer. But, we sure had some good hunts in June before things got too toasty.
Steve got a big hog for the freezer:
Dan got this nice boar:
And last but not least, Sal was proud to carry the backpack of a friend's son stationed in Afghanistan. The backpack must have had some military mojo with it: check out the clean head shot he got on this hog:
Give us a call if you want to book a hunt for the fall. See our website for price information.

More Spring Pig Hunts
Spring was a lucrative season for pig hunters at the ranch. In April, Dane from Oregon (pictured here) got his very first pig! Then, his father, Kevin, got one for himself as well (pictured below). Congratulations guys!
Then in May, Russ came down from Washington and bagged this big hog. Congratulations Russ.
We're moving into summer which means things are heating up (literally) and we're booking hunts for all seasons and game. If you're interested in booking a pig, turkey or deer hunt at the DASH Ranch, check out our website for more info or contact Dave at 530.941.2112

Spring Turkey Hunts
Opening weekend was cold, windy and rainy; however, that didn't stop Bill, from Milpitas Ca., from baggin' a nice gobbler between storms.
What a difference a few days can make...
Soon after Bill left the weather cleared, warmed up and the turkeys finally figured out it was Spring--just in time for Reno, Nevada hunter Paul, and his son Matt, to score two toms each over the course of two days.
Congratulations guys.
We have a couple of spots left for Spring turkey hunts. Give Dave a call at 530-941-2112 for more info.

February Pig Hunts
Congratulations to Greg from Folsom, Ca. for getting this nice boar in February. We had a light dusting of snow for a day, but he, as well as his buddy Jay, both scored nice hogs. Pig hunting continues to be good and should stay that way through July.

January Pig Hunt
Congratulations to Joel from South Lake Tahoe on the 200 lb. sow he got mid-January. The Russian-pig bloodline really shows up on this razorback pig. The pig hunting should continue to stay good for at least the next few months.
We're seeing a lot of turkeys about the ranch--those hunts start at the end of March and it should be another great year.
In other ranch news, the weather has been warm and dry, but we're hoping it will rain it a little more to ensure good grass growth through the spring and a large acorn drop in the summer.
